The Nautical Institute of BC will present an online Technical Seminar on: FLIR for enhanced ice detection and avoidance on a Panamax Bulk Carrier. Lessons from first hand experience in the 2021 Arctic Season.

Capt. Gronmyr is a Master Mariner, ANFI and Ice Navigator with 15 seasons in the Canadian Arctic. Captain Gronmyr was a guest Lecturer at CIMAR (Center for Maritime Education and Training Center) in Valparaiso, Chile for the International Antarctic Waters Operations Course (IOAA).
The Technical Seminar will be held using the online via the “Zoom” platform.

The seminar will be 30 minute presentation, followed by a Q&A period and social. All members and interested mariners are welcome to attend. Please share to anyone interested in NIBC or learning about NIBC activities.
